Six weeks with a hand grinder
Verdict so far: shoulders tired, cup noticeably cleaner than the old blade grinder. Grind consistency around the 18-click mark works for my moka pot; anything finer and the bitterness comes back.

Reviving a 12V desk fan with a wrong-sized resistor
The speed switch died years ago. Two resistors, one heat-shrink tube and a mild burn later, the thing runs quiet at a single sensible speed. Schematic scribbled on the back of an envelope, as tradition demands.
